About the Author

Karen Tischhauser taught English/ELA at Barrington Middle School - Station Campus, in Barrington, Illinois, for 23 years. Her drive to inspire writing and her search for best practice and innovation brought objects into her classroom over her 30-year career. Karen’s experience with School districts in Illinois, Georgia, and Frankfurt Germany, compliment her broad teaching skills.

Motivated to continue learning and to stay up to date with current educational research, Karen earned her Master of Education in Literacy from Judson University, and she has published three books on her unique teaching methods. Now, Karen is shifting her energy from middle school children to teachers and aspiring teachers, offering workshops in writing, reading, and grammar.  Karen has two adult daughters, three grandchildren and lives with her husband in North Barrington, Illinois.
